Young, local athlete, Hannah Swajanen is now rehabbing in the gym following brain surgery.
The 14-year-old weight-lifter is planning a comeback to the sport after a brief hiatus due to a brain tumor.
On June 21 doctor's at the University of Michigan's children's hospital successfully removed the tumor from Hannah's brain.
Hannah is already a week ahead of schedule with her rehab.
Both she and her coaches also expect a full come back in the weight room.
"I know it may take a while to get back to where I used to be but then when I get there I expect it to go smoothly" says Hannah.
Her coach Justin Ellman adds, "We'd like to see her back lifting and to get to nationals next year. That's our hope and we'll just play it each week at a time."
Hannah's doctors have cleared her to start practice lifting on July 21.
