Sun, 12 May 2013 03:58:55 GMT — Baraga County Memorial Hospital opened its doors to the public Saturday. The hospital hosted a health expo, allowing visitors to see all of the facilities and services that they offer. About 200 people came to see tables with demonstrations, get their blood pressure taken, or even get a massage. The expo also allowed visitors a look into the operating room and other areas normally closed to the public. "Events like this bring more of the public in, and they can see the different departments, see what the different departments have to offer...just let the community know that they're here for them," said visitor Cheryl Vandermeulen from Aura. Each guest was given a medical care binder, allowing patients to keep their own detailed record of their medical history. The BCMH Health Expo kicks off National Hospital Week.
