Changes are coming soon for the Heartwood Trail Head off of M-553.
The Noquemanon Trail Network now has a permit to go ahead with building a 24 by 32 foot pavilion at the trail head. It'll have a sheltered picnic area, changing rooms, and handicap accessible. They also plan to fix the gravel parking layout so more cars will be able to fit.
"Just having a place where they can quick change into their riding clothes before they get out on the trails will be very convenient for them," says Lyle VanderSchaaf of the Single Track Committee of the NTN. "For the community I think it creates a better space. It gives a visible area for the trails to all start from."
Construction is expected to start within the next two weeks. The $50,000 project is estimated to be finished by the end of the month.
