Motorists in Marquette saw firefighters Friday, in the street, holding a boot.
It's all part of the annual Fill The Boot campaign.
This is an easy way for you to lighten yourself of loose change and help out the Muscular Dystrophy Association at the same time.
Friday afternoon members of the Marquette Fire Department were stationed at busy intersections holding their boots and collecting money from drivers.
Firefighters say they enjoy being able to help out the MDA, and are always pleasantly surprised at the generosity.
"Over the last several years we've raised between 10 and 12 thousand dollars each year. The first year we started out, you know kind of like anything that's expected, you know it was a little slow. But then as the years progress it's done really well," said Brian Anderson, President of the Marquette Firefighters Union.
The firefighters will be out on Saturday from 10a.m. to 4p.m. as well.
You can find them at Fair AVEnue and Pine Street, Front Street and Washington Street, as well as at Third Street and Hewitt AVENUE and McClellan and Cleveland.
