The Upper Peninsula Power Company reported nearly 300 people without service in Iron River Monday afternoon.
According to UPPCO, high winds have knocked trees down on to power lines, along with the breaking of a utility pole.

The power company expects to have customers back up and running by Monday evening, but warned that high winds could cause further outages.
