Saturday night Blues musicians will be coming together for a good cause and a good show. Four bands, including the Flat Broke Blues Band and Felix Reyes, will be performing at the Ore Dock Brewery. They call the fundraiser Kickin' the Blues.
The money raised goes to fund bipolar research in honor of Blues musician Sean Costello. This year they've included the Daniel Olson Memorial Scholarship fund in honor of Ishpeming head football coach Jeff Olson's son.
"We want to raise awareness, but it's also going to be a great time for a lot of different types of people to get together. There's going to be four great bands here, some great music, a great atmosphere," said Coach Jeff Olson. "I think it's going to be a well-rounded event. There's going to be a lot of different people, a lot of fun."
Kickin' the Blues starts at 3 p.m. at the Ore Dock Brewery in Marquette. In addition to the live music, there will also be a silent auction and 50-50 raffles featuring items donated by local businesses.
