Hundreds help a young woman with her fight against cancer

On Saturday, hundreds came out to help one resident in her fight against cancer.

Lindy Quayle, 22, was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare cancer in her salivary glands.

Due to the size and location of the tumor, Lindy will be undergoing six weeks of chemo and radiation in Minnesota.

A close friend organized the event at the Wawonowin Country Club in Ishpeming to help offset the costs.

Lindy never imagined she would have such an enormous turnout.

"It's insane to know how many people are there to be supportive and that show they care," says Lindy. "A big thank you will never be enough but that's what I can say is thank you."

Over 60 local businesses also donated baskets to be raffled off.

If you??d like to help, donations can be dropped off at any time at Lindy??s Fight Benefit Fund at the Peninsula Bank.
