Although itâ??s Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year, there were many who decided to spend their day off hitting the slopes instead of the stores.
Friday was the first day Marquette Mountain had their opening day on Black Friday in five years.
The general manager said they're expecting approximately 350 people throughout the day, and although itâ??s not a very high number, they prefer the slower start.
"Make sure everythingâ??s working well," said Vern Barber, GM of Marquette Mountain. "The snow's skiing well and the signs are all up."
Marquette Mountain sprayed more than three million gallons of manmade snow in the past 48 hours for opening day.
They're open through Sunday and will reopen next Thursday.
