An Illinois man is hospitalized after a snowmobile crash in Ontonagon County. The crash happened Saturday morning at 3:25 a.m. That's when the Ontonagon County Sheriff's Department was called to Trail #1, just south of M-64.
Michael Sutcliffe, age 53, of west Chicago, was riding on the trail when his machine left the trail and struck a tree. He was taken to Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital and later transferred to Marquette General Hospital. He is listed in serious condition.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Rockland Volunteer Fire Department and Sonco Ambulance.
