A recent report released by the Census Bureau indicates a rise in child care costs, which may have families looking for other alternatives.
The report shows some parents may be looking for day care provided by relatives and after-school programs with the reported cost increases. At Woodland Child Care Center in Kingsford, the staff explains there may be other changes, but their primary concern is serving the community.
"Parents are burdened with increasing costs everywhere, so we're trying to keep the costs of child care low for them and affordable," said Child Care Director Sharon Quick-Dulan.
While Woodland says it is not changing their cost of care, the report shows as a whole, centers are seeing increasing costs.
