      Inmate charged with murder solicitation refuses to appear in court

      A Baraga Max prison inmate accused of trying to arrange the murder of a state lawmaker refused to appear in court Friday .

      Larry Taylor was scheduled to appear in Marquette County Circuit Court for his arraignment, but he refused to cooperate. H e's also been charged with solicitation of felony kidnapping.

      The case against Taylor started on Sept. 9 when the Department of Corrections intercepted a letter soliciting the kidnapping and killing of state representative Barb Byrum of Ingham C ounty.

      Taylor is serving time in a 2005 Lansing-area murder solicitation case involving another target.

      "He's non-cooperative in appearing for the video arraignment; he's not coming out of his cell," said Judge Thomas Solka.

      The judge rescheduled Taylor's arraignment for Nov. 9.
