Investigation continues in Wausaukee woman's murder

A 55-year-old man who's currently hospitalized is accused of shooting to death a 51-year-old woman Sunday afternoon at the Citgo convenience store in the Village of Wausaukee, Wisconsin. The investigation indicates Richard Heyer shot his ex-girlfriend, Ann Schueller, behind the counter of the convenience store. He then proceeded outside the store where he then shot himself in the chest. Tonya Perry was working at The Ice Cream Station located directly across the street. One minute she was serving ice cream, and the next she saw the Crivitz man lying on the floor outside the store. â??I saw a guy lying on the ground, and I asked a customer what happened,â?? explains Perry. â??She said he shot himself, and he shot the employee there.â??Friends of Schueller described her as a bubbly person who was happy to break away from the years of abuse and start over. â??She was sweeping the parking lot at Citgo, and she was smiling,â?? says close friend, Nickey Dane. â??She was happy to go to workâ?|I donâ??t think she knew this was coming.â??Officials will conduct a press conference Tuesday at 1 p.m. to discuss further details on the investigation. Heyer remains in intensive care for the self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Reports are being forwarded to the Marinette County District Attorneyâ??s Office for consideration of homicide charges.
