The first annual flea market fundraiser for the Iron County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary was on Saturday at the facilityâ??s upper parking lot.
More than 30 vendors were present selling everything from jewelry, art, quilts, baked goods, homemade dog treats, clothing and more. The facility raises money by charging each of the vendors a fee to set up at the market.
â??Actually today is good, really goodâ?? said Virginia LaFountain, a vendor at the flea market. â??I was at St. Germainâ??s on Monday and I sold probably just as much today as I did there and that is much larger. There are over 300 vendors there.
All of the proceeds will go towards buying gifts for the residents of the medical care facility. Additional funds were also raised from the medical centerâ??s baked goods booth.
