Medical departments at the VA in Iron Mountain are participating in an Adopt-a-Garden program this summer.
There are nine groups that have their own garden creations in the front and back of the facility. The purpose of the program is to get departments to work together for beautification. Team members take turns grooming and caring for the gardens.
"Employees get a chance to take ownership and how a sense of pride in the medical center and also it's beautiful for staff, residents, patients and visitors alike," says Public Affairs intern, Julia Weiss.
In August, the final judging of the gardens will take place by area master gardeners.
