The City of Iron River continues to be under a â??let-runâ?? order, and it's been in effect for over a month.
The order started on February 4, and on Wednesday, the crews were still out most of the day thawing out lines. The local Holiday gas station was out of water for much of the afternoon. And though the sun was out most of the day, the frost was still continuing to go down.
â??We're averaging, well, our flow in our sewer plant is about 218,000 gallons a day, and the increased pumping costs for power is averaging about $140 a day,â?? said City Manager, Perry Franzoi.
The city says the order will continue and that it doesn't show signs of letting up soon.
