The man convicted of voluntary manslaughter was in court on Friday to be sentenced.
Fifty-two-year-old Jack Carpenter was sentenced to nine years in prison for killing 29-year-old David Meyer in his home in June of 2012. Carpenter was convicted of voluntary manslaughter on October 2 after a lengthy trial.
A charge of voluntary manslaughter can carry up to a 15-year prison sentence.
