In less than 24 hours over 30 skiers will be soaring 120 feet in the air at 45 miles per hour.
The 127th annual event at the Suicide Ski Bowl returns to Ishpeming Wednesday evening, with last minute preparations underway on Tuesday.
Over 30 skiers are planning to jump, coming from different countries including Finland, Norway and Canada. Organizers say the unique spectacle attracts hundreds every year.
"First time people, they're absolutely awed by the jump, by the sounds you know just the whole atmosphere of ski jumping," said Tom Peterson of the Ishpeming Ski Club.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $15 a person, but kids 12 and under are free. The event is set to begin at 6 p.m.
