It's Craft Beer Week in Upper Michigan

This week is Upper Peninsula Craft Beer Week, all leading up to the U.P. Fall Beer Festival in Marquette this Saturday.

Craft Beer Week gives U.P. breweries a chance to showcase new beers and host events like beer tastings and tap take-overs. Craft Beer Week is organized by A Pint Above, a group started by local home brewers. Blackrocks Brewery will be unveiling two beers on Thursday and Friday before the beer festival.

"It's really important people can see that there's a lot of diversity in craft beer," says David Manson of Blackrocks Brewery. "They can get to experience it right here in Marquette and try some of the beers that they don't normally get to try during the regular course of business for most of us."

Blackrocks, along with several other U.P. breweries, will be at Beer Fest to showcase their craft beers. The festival will run this Saturday at Mattson Lower Harbor Park from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
