This Saturday is the 19th annual Jaycees Duck Races. This year they hope to raise enough money to create over 300 Thanksgiving baskets for local families in need.
This year, the race will start with a 5k run, walk, waddle. Throughout the day there will be lunch, kids games, a bean bag tournament, and of course, the duck races starting at noon. The ducks are $5 each, or $20 for a "six-quack." So far over 4,000 ducks have been sold.
"This event is what helps us raise the money to give back," says Kassandra Howard, chair of the Duck Races. "Not only do we do the Thanksgiving baskets, but any money that we do have left at the end of the year we give back to other organizations."
Prizes include a 2014 Harley Davidson and an outdoors package with mountain bikes and camping equipment.
