The two Marquette residents convicted of attempting to extort money from actor John Stamos were in court on Thursday to challenge their sentences.
Officials say that Allison Coss and Scott Sippola were in court from 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursday to file Habeas petitions in an attempt to vacate or correct their prison sentences.
Coss and Sippola were both sentenced to four years in prison for attempting to extort $680,000 after claiming they had photos of Stamos with strippers and cocaine. They were sentenced in 2010, and the federal appeals court upheld the convictions in early 2012.
According to officials, Coss and Sippola were instructed by a federal judge to file briefs regarding their claims by October 31.
