Jury selection continues in torture and kidnap trial

Jury selection continues Tuesday in the trial of two Ishpeming men accused of torture and kidnapping. Jason Sadowski and Charles Cope will be tried together in the case. It dates back to July 2, 2013.

Two women claimed that Sadowski and Cope tied them up in the basement of Sadowski's martial arts studio. There, the men allegedly held the victims for about five hours. One of the women eventually found a cell phone, and called police.

Recently, Sadowski's lawyer presented several motions to the court . One motion was to dismiss testimony of one of the victims. The woman passed away since the initial hearing. That motion was denied.

Jury selection began Monday morning. After the jury is seated, opening arguments could be given as early as Tuesday afternoon.
