Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee have come together for the fourth annual 'Keep Kids Warm' project.
The two churches will be distributing empty bags with instructions attached to houses around the Ishpeming and Negaunee areas this Saturday, October 12.
Community members are encouraged to donate any gently used or new winter boots, hats, mittens, scarves, jackets, and snowpants by putting them in the bag. On October 19, church members will come and pick up the donations from doorsteps.
"The following Saturday we'll display all of them in the armory so anybody who has a need can come and get the clothing for their children so everybody has warm, dry clothes this winter so they can have fun outside," said a volunteer.
The clothes will be transferred to the National Guard Armory in Ishpeming for free distribution on Saturday, October 26.
If you do not receive a bag, donations can still made at each church, Saint Vincent de Paul, or the Salvation Army.
