The Keweenaw Peninsula Chamber of Commerce recently held their annual meeting. Members of the chamber said they want to move forward and reinvent the way they serve local businesses. Members have created a strategic plan for training and lower priced advertisements to help the members involved. They also listened to a guest speaker talk about community and business development.
"The strength in our organization is really in the types of people that open businesses and the types of customers we serve here, and every member should have a chamber of commerce. I think it's very important for everyone, and we depend on our membership," said Steph Olsson Johanna Davis, the chamber's president and board member.
Awards and recognitions were given out to different members for their role in the chamber, and they also handed out two Spark Plug Awards for the members who put forth a lot of dedication and job creation. The election results for three board members were also announced.
