The Keweenaw Community Foundation is celebrating 20 years of serving the community at its annual community event, Keweenaw Gold.
Previously the event was called Pure Gold, but it was changed this year to Keweenaw Gold to better highlight the community. The Keweenaw Community Foundation helps provide funding to 70 charities and organizations in the Copper Country.
Keweenaw Gold will be next Wednesday at the Continental Fire Co in Houghton to recognize those organizations and donors who help bolster the community.
"It touches every area of the Keweenaw, and that way people can come and learn about where there have been endowments developed that need to be sustained," said KCF executive director Barbara Rose.
Keweenaw Gold will be Wednesday evening, January 29 at 6 p.m. Entry will be $75, $55 of which is a tax-deductible donation.
