Kick off spring by paying it forward

This Saturday you can kick off spring by helping out in your community.

Organizers from the Northern Michigan University and Marquette Lions Clubs are playing host to their annual kickball tournament.

For just $10 per person, anyone can gather up a team of eight or more and play, starting at nine in the morning in the Vandament Arena.

All of the proceeds will benefit leader, or service, dogs for the blind and deaf.

"I don't think people realize how much these dogs actually go through to just get in the program, and how much it costs. And that the owners don't have to pay for them and it's a complete nonprofit organization," said Sarah Juday, the organizer for the event.

Registration is open from now through Friday.

To register, stop in at the PEIF or email Sarah at sjuday@nmu.edu.
