      Kids celebrate National Reading Month

March is National Reading Month, and Saturday, kids of all ages got a chance to pick out a free book at the Westwood Mall in Marquette Township.

As some kids scanned the tables for their favorite books, others sat down and listened to stories read by a princess.

When asked what was their favorite thing about reading, brothers Kyle & Cody Bunnell said, "We get to look at the pictures and read."

"I just like something really interesting. I kind of like mystery books and just something that you don't know what's going to happen next. That's what I like to read, so I came here to see what they had," said Jaiden Peterson, reader.

The event is put on once a year by the Marquette Alger Reading Council and all of the libraries in Marquette and Alger Counties to promote reading among children.
