Kids in Iron County had the chance to experience life in the 1800s at the Historical Museum in Caspian on Tuesday. The living workshop allowed kids to participate in hands-on activities that helped them understand homestead life.
The two-day workshop included making toys, baking food, doing chores, and wearing clothes from that era.
Emma and Kaleb enjoyed experiencing homestead living. â??Yesterday we worked on the clay marbles; we made clay marbles and we started cutting into an apple to make an apple-head doll. We ground wheat for flour,â?? said Emma and Kaleb.
The little homesteaders started churning their own butter to go perfectly well with their homemade bread. The kids say they enjoyed learning how chores back then are different than the ones they do today.
