Kids in Iron County experienced life in the 1800s at the Historical Museum in Caspian on Tuesday. The living workshop allowed kids to participate in hands-on activities to help them understand homestead life.
The two-day workshop included making toys, baking food, doing chores, and wearing clothes from that era. â??Yesterday, we worked on the clay marbles--we made clay marbles, and we started cutting into an apple to make an apple-head doll. We ground wheat for flour,â?? said two of the kids.
The little homesteaders churned their own butter to go well with their homemade bread. They said they enjoyed learning how chores, during that time period, were more difficult than what theyâ??re used to.
