Students in the rocketry class at the Kingsford High School are getting ready for Saturdayâ??s annual rocket launch. Students have been constructing rockets of various shapes and sizes for the big day. The rocket science skills these students are learning are finally put to the test during the launch where rockets soar up to 4,000 feet into the air.
â??Iâ??m looking forward to seeing all the rockets go up and getting to see how the parachute goes and then flying down,â?? said student, Messiah Markosen. â??To watch it go up 4,000 feet and then the parachutes actually holding it as it goes down,â?? said sophomore, Ricky Chaffee.
The launch on Saturday is open to the public and takes place at 10 a.m. at the Groveland Mine site in Felch.
