Nursing mothers, nurse on!
In honor of August as Breastfeeding Awareness Month, the worldwide Big Latch-On events will take place Saturday, August 3.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. in the Children's Museum courtyard in Marquette. Everyone, whether a nursing mom or a breastfeeding supporter, is welcome to attend.
After the latch-on, the Breastfeeding Awareness Walk will happen in downtown Marquette. And after the walk, families can return to the Children's Museum for a community picnic.
"Families are welcome, other children are welcome. The Children's Museum has been wonderful letting us come in every year to do this. This is our third year, and they do open the museum so families can hang around and play in the museum, too," said Linda Marshall, WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor.
The entire event is free with registration.
There will be plenty of giveaways as well as information for mothers regarding parenting and breastfeeding.
