The Great Lakes Research Center at Michigan Tech hosted a Lake Superior party Tuesday evening to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Lake Superior Stewardship Initiative.
Different stations were set up throughout the building for the community to interact with and learn about science and water.
There were many hands-on activities, including water experiments and controlling a robot. Various food vendors and live music were also a part of the celebration. Families who came out to the event say it was a good mix of education and fun.
â??There were robots on the tour, and I got to drive one of them,â?? said visitor, Erik Flaspohler. â??That was really fun. I learned itâ??s very, very hard to drive a robot.â??
The Great Lakes Research Center at Michigan Tech is dedicated to studying the Great Lakes and involving children of all ages in science and technology.
