Thursday was Field Day at Lakeview Elementary School in Negaunee.
Students in fourth grade enjoyed the beautiful weather by participating in the annual event that promotes physical fitness. The students rotated around eight different stations like the long jump, hurdles, and monkey bars. They earned stickers for each challenge they complete. Each station touched on a different area of strength and conditioning.
"It's to celebrate fitness and exercise and to show and remind them that exercising is fun," said physical education teacher Lisa Bigalk. "We have events that cover multiple fitness components: strength, coordination, balance."
The field day was run largely by volunteers and is something that the Lakeview Elementary students look forward to every year.
