Some young artists are using nature as their studio. "Arts in the Landscape" is a summer camp happening this week at the Moosewood Nature Center at Presque Isle Park in Marquette. It began Tuesday morning, and the middle school participants were collecting natural materials like sticks and leaves to create outdoor sculptures called "Earth Works.""As kids get older, they aren't encouraged to make art using those things, and it's kind of a return to that basic human nature," said Art Teacher, Jake Fether.
Throughout the rest of the week, the kids will also be painting and drawing landscapes around the island. The summer at Moosewood continues next week with an Outdoor Cooking Camp. For more information click here .
