Local artist displays work after four-year hiatus

The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center has a few new additions to their art collection.

For the month of February, the work of local artist Paul Grant will be on display in the Small Works Gallery, entitled "Revisiting People and Places."

Grant's exhibit displays works of watercolor, oil, and charcoal.

This is the first showing in four years that Grant has participated in. He tells people he is a true outdoorsman and paints places in the U.P. that are dear to his heart.

"Nature is so important to the people in this area. We all live here because of its location, and Paul Grant is a local artist who has captured some of those places, and it's a wonderful thing to come and celebrate that and maybe see a place that you've been, but through new eyes," said Tiina Harris, City of Marquette Community Services Manager, Marquette Arts and Culture Center.

If you would like to meet Paul Grant, there will be an opening reception on Thursday, February 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gallery.
