The Kaufman Auditorium is starting a new tradition. This Saturday, local U.P. artists will perform a "Celebrate Me Home" concert.
"They're all going to take the stage and perform music for everyone that's here for the holidays," said Sara Cambensy, Kaufman Auditorium director.
The concert will feature several artists, including Michael and Erica Waite, Jim and Ray, and Kerry Yost and Friends.
"Kerry plays with a few other women so she'll be playing. She'll be doing some other stuff as well as playing with the other musicians, and Mike Waite is an alumni here of Marquette Senior High School. Him and his wife perform. Mike's singing and Erica's doing dance," Cambensy said.
Jim and Ray are two classic faces of the local music scene.
"What they're going to do is play some songs together. They'll play some with just a few people and they will also probably invite some people up from the audience to play with them," Cambensy added.
All are welcome to this family friendly concert.
"You can expect some classics in terms of just rock and roll music that they play, some original tunes they've written, as well as some alternative takes on some Christmas music," Cambensy said.
The show starts this Saturday, December 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kaufman Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12.
Tickets can be purchased at Garden Bouquet and Design (130 W. Baraga St.), Everyday Wines (119 W. Baraga St.) and MacDonald's Music Store (601 N. Third St.).
