Local bar hosts watch party for World Cup

Die hard soccer fans gathered at local bars and restaurants Thursday to watch Team USA take on Germany to see who moves on the next round.

The Doghouse Pub in downtown Marquette hosted a watch party for each of Team USA's games in the first round. Local soccer fans helped organize the watch parties and get fans to come out and support their team.

"We've been able to get people out and watching the games in a public venue," says soccer fan Marc Hefae. "It's a much different atmosphere than watching at home on your TV."

Although Team USA lost to Germany 1-0, both teams will advance out of their group to the round of 16.

Team USA's next match will be on Tuesday against the winner of Group H.
