In spite of its foreclosure earlier this year, the Delta Plaza Mall in Escanaba shows no sign of closing.
An interim management company has taken over for the mall while a new owner is identified. The mall has recently undergone some upgrades to attract new tenants.
"We painted the entire front of the mall and many areas around the mall...greatly improved," said Becky Miron, Delta Plaza Mall Manager. "It hadn't been painted in many years so it just has a fresh, nice clean look."
Other upgrades include a new roof, new benches and planters which were placed outside. Parking lot updates include curb repair and new striping. The mall is attempting to attract national retailers to come in and lease space.
Kiosks for temporary businesses are also being accepted. The mall is located on the North Lincoln Road/US-2/41 and M-35 corridor which is a main artery along the southern U.P. from the Mackinac Bridge down to Green Bay.
