The D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette was given a $1,500 check Saturday by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association of Michigan Chapter (CVMA) 35-1.
Members from CVMA rode in on their motorcycles and stopped by the home to meet with veterans. They also donated clothing and toiletries.
The Michigan chapter has been around for over a decade and is made up of hundreds of members.
Tim Wellman was one of the 45 original members of the CVMA Michigan based group.
"We've had a lot of benefit runs. Right from the beginning we started doing donations and we were able to donate to a lot of veteran charities like Fisher House. Now after our last national meeting in South Dakota, we decided to do other benefits," said Tim Wellman, veteran and original member.
The group traveled from the Porcupine Bash, a concert held at the Gitche Gumee RV Park & Campground.
The event is held each year to honor military veterans.
This was the first year the CVMA donated to the Jacobetti Home and they plan on doing it again next year.
