The annual hope starts here challenge is coming up and they're looking to get a record number participants. The event includes a duathlon, competitive 10 and 5-k runs as well as a half marathon. They've also included a family friendly leisure walk and short bike ride. The challenge raises funds and awareness for Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center at Marquette General Hospital.
"This event is one of the hallmark fundraisers of the Brain Tumor Center here at Marquette General, it really sets us apart from other places across the Upper Peninsula, the research that's going on and the groundbreaking procedures are helped to be paid for by this event," said Organizer Laurie Neldberg Weesen.
The hope starts here challenge is May 11th. The start and finish for the events will be the Lakeview Arena. Prices for the challenge vary by which event you run in. They are encouraging online registration and for that click here.
