A 41-year-old Negaunee man was arrested on Thursday after police say he was involved in a hit-and-run while driving drunk.
Jared Ringuette was taken into custody after police say he made a left turn off US-41 and struck a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Krystene Salvator-Jacobson shortly after 5 p.m. Police say Ringuette fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later.
He was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol level and failing to stop at the scene of a crash. Both charges are misdemeanors.
There were no injuries reported during the incident. Ringuette is being held in the Marquette County Jail, pending arraignment.
