A Marquette resident has been arrested in an alleged child abuse case.
The Marquette Police Department reports that 24-year-old David Andrew Halverson was taken into custody on January 17 on a charge of fourth degree child abuse. Police allege that Halverson left his two-year-old child unattended while attending an Ultimate Frisbee practice at the Superior Dome.
Police report that neighbors witnessed the two-year-old child leave an apartment in nothing but a diaper then began to run around the building. Two neighbors chased after the two year old, bringing the child inside. Unable to find Halverson, the neighbors contacted police.
Halverson was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on $50,000 bond.
