      Man charged in fatal motorcycle crash

      The driver of the Ryder Truck that killed two people after colliding with a motorcycle has been charged.

      Raymond Michael Anderson, a 19-year-old Ishpeming resident, has been charged with two counts of moving violation causing death, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 1 year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine. Anderson was arrested on the warrant and posted a $500 bond. He was arraigned in Ishpeming District Court on August 12.

      The incident occurred on June 5, when Anderson turned in front of a motorcycle driven by 64-year-old Gary Kappler of Ahmeek and carrying 52-year-old Diane Palosaari of Mohawk. The crash happened on US-41 in Ishpeming at Lakeshore Drive. Both Kappler and Palosaari were pronounced dead at the scene.
