Man charged with $4,000 in property damage

The man that was arrested in connection with the malicious destruction of Michigan State Police property was arraigned in court Thursday morning.

Twenty-year-old Austin Ritchie was arrested by police after surveillance video from a business on Marquette's north side surfaced. The video showed Ritchie outside the business on Industrial Parkway off Wright Street between 2 and 3 a.m. The Marquette Police Department says that when police arrived, they discovered some property damage.

Ritchie has since been released on a $1,500 bond. During his arraignment, a preliminary hearing date was set for November 6 at 2:30 p.m. Ritchie will be brought up on two felony counts of personal and state police property damage. If convicted, each charge is punishable with up to four years in prison.
