The final suspect in the cougar poaching case in Schoolcraft County was in court Monday.
Todd Richard entered a guilty plea in district court this morning, but that wasn't Richard's only plea of the day.
Originally, Richard pled guilty to conspiracy. Representing himself, he told the court he was hoping to avoid a trial by jury.
After court was dismissed and our cameras left, Richard withdrew his plea. He instead pled no contest to a lesser charge of taking, possessing, buying or selling an endangered animal.
Richard was then sentenced to 24 hours of community service, and $625 in court fines and costs or 30 days in jail.
