Fifteen years; that is how long John Sarasin could potentially spend in prison.
Armed with a pistol, Sarasin held his wife hostage in their Flat Rock home during a nine-hour police stand-off in July. Sarasin pled guilty on three counts.
The 62-year-old man received a prison sentence on Thursday of 3 years, 2 months to 15 years for the first count, unlawful imprisonment. Count four, interfering with electronic communication, resulted in a sentence of 11 months.
Sarasin received an additional 11 months for count five, attempted assault with a dangerous weapon. For all counts, Sarasin received a credit of 48 days.
All the charges are concurrent and will be served in prison. Sarasin gave a statement to a party of the case, however, these records will be released to the public once they are transcribed.
