The man accused of murdering his girlfriend in April appeared in Marinette County Court on Thursday through video conference.
During proceedings on Thursday morning it was announced that Brent Kaempf's home will be sold to pay for his attorney. Kaempf is facing charges after police say he murdered his 45-year-old girlfriend, Trish Waschbisch.
Waschbisch was found dead in her Peshtigo, Wisconsin home back in April. She was the interim director of Rainbow House, which is a domestic violence help center.
It was announced in court on Thursday that Judge Morrison will no longer preside over the case against Kaempf. This is due to a conflict of interest because Judge Morrison knew the alleged victim. Waschbisch assisted Judge Morrison in his campaign for judge.
