The man from Manistique, charged with trying to kill another man, appeared in Schoolcraft County Circuit Court on Thursday morning.
Thirty-five-year-old Gordon Daniel Baker II agreed to a plea agreement on charges from two separate incidents, including one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, one count of second degree home invasion, and one count of breaking and entering with intent.
"Did you and Michael Chapek get into a fight?" asked defense attorney Kathryn Dunholm. "And as a result of that fight, did Mr. Chapek suffer injuries? Any broken ribs?"
"Yes," replied Baker.
Baker will be back in court for sentencing on November 7. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
