A Menominee man is heading to federal prison after being sentenced for making homemade explosives.
Fifrty-one-year-old Thomas Bebo was arrested in April after neighbors alerted police that he was making explosives in his home. The defendant claimed they were for protection in the woods, but U.S. attorneys said Bebo's ex-girlfriend and ex-wife said he threatened them with the explosives.
The federal judge sentenced him to one year behind bars. He will also have a two-year supervised release, cannot possess any weapons, and must submit regular drug testing.
