The man charged with criminal sexual conduct involving a 15-year-old boy in Escanaba was sentenced in Delta County court on Monday.
Carl Pellinen was sentenced to 17 1/2 to 50 years in prison for first degree criminal sexual conduct and 25 to 50 years for first degree child abuse.
Pellinen, along with Susan Bardo, were facing charges after a 15-year-old boy was discovered in an Escanaba home during a well-being check. Escanaba Public Safety reported finding the boy in an 8' x 10' room lined with tarps.
According to officials, the boy was kept in a room for 22 hours a day with limited food. He was also tied and bound to a chair for two to three months.
Pellinen will serve his two sentences concurrently. Bardo was sentenced earlier in August. She received 20 to 50 years on each charge of child abuse and torture.
