      Man thrown from snowmobile

      An Iowa man collided with a truck and was thrown from his snowmobile onto the roadway.

      The Houghton County Sheriff's Office said the accident happened Saturday around 9:30 a.m. on Osecola Road near Swedetown in Calumet Township.

      Sixty-two-year-old Jerrold Juett did not stop at the trail access intersection and collided with a truck traveling northbound on Osecola Road.

      The truck was driven by John Banovetz of Calumet.

      Juett received a back injury from the crash. He was treated at the scene by Mercy Ambulance and then transported to Aspirus Keweenaw.

      Banovetz was not injured in the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

      The Michigan State Police also assisted at the scene.
